CAP-FAQ

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: Will children be getting an individual square to color?

A: No. Each classroom will be getting one big square to color together.

Q: What material are we using to color the squares?

A: We will be using oil pastel.

Q: Do we have to trace the images ourselves?

A: No. Your square paper will already have images traced on by us.

Q: Do we have to go to B1 Cafeteria to color?

A: Not necessarily. Each classroom teacher will choose the coloring location for his/her own class. It could be B1 Cafeteria, Classroom, or even in the hallway! Please contact your classroom teacher to find out about the time and location.

Q: What is the parent volunteer's role?

A: Parent volunteers' role will be assisting children in coloring as well as coloring the square themselves! Remember, this is a community-wide art project, not a student only project!

Q: Will we be able to finish the coloring in 1 hour as suggested?

A: Maybe. It really depends on the group. Be prepared to stay longer if necessary to finish coloring if the 1 hr session with children turns out to be not enough time for your class. Lower grades might take longer than the upper grades.

Q: Who will be leading the coloring session? A room parent or the teacher?

A: The coloring session can be led by a room parent or the classroom teacher. However, we ask a room parent to take care of material pick-up/drop-off, as well as rallying up parent volunteers to join in coloring. A room parent is responsible for making sure the coloring is completed and for submitting the finished artwork to us.

Q: Where do we pick-up the materials and drop off the finished artwork along with the left over materials?

A: Pick-up: PTO room, Monday 4/22, 8:30am - 12:30pm.

Drop-off: ES Office, anytime before Friday 4/26, 3:00pm.
